Textile designer Livia Crispolti was born in Rome in 1976 and lives and works in Rome and Milan.

She studied with Marisa Bronzini in her workshop in Cantù, Como, with Graziella Guidotti at the Tessilstudio in Florence, at the Sapienza University in Rome, and at the Textile Museum in Washington DC, in the USA.

She has been writing about textile culture since 1996, and has also been active in this field in design and production, as well as teaching. Since 2004, she has been the owner of the textile brand name LIVIA CRISPOLTI TESSUTO A MANO. From 2007 to 2013 she was curator of the exhibition space at Vetrine Ripetta 130/133, at the Archivio Crispolti Arte Contemporanea in Rome, an exhibition and commercial area where she investigates the fusion between textile culture and the visual arts and organizes the annual ARTE DEL FILO event. Since 2005 she has been contract professor at the Brera Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan, teaching on the courses: Textile Culture, Fashion Materials Culture and History of Fashion.
